It's Me... Edwin!!

Hi there lovelies!

This one needs no introduction ;-)

From the very first time that I saw him, I knew that I *had* to create something with him.

Living in a house full of men (dogs included!), these kind of things are hard to resist.

I even borrowed my son's book for this photo session...LOL!  BTW, *Diary of a Wimpy Kid* is a great read. I highly recommend it for young and adults ;-)

Two more things...

The newest edition of Magnolia Ink will be released soon. It's full of ideas, step-by-steps, and inspiration that you don't want to miss out!

Second, don't forget to subscribe to my blog by using either one of the three available options to the bottom right of this blog: Follow By Email, Bloglovin, and Networked Blogs. Google Friend Connect is no longer available!

Tilda Interactive Card

Hi everyone!

Today I want to share with you an interactive card that I created using one of the many beautiful Tildas from the newest Valentine's Collection.

I created the base of the card using a 8-pointed star shape that I found on the internet. I loved this shape and how cute it made the card look. I'm definitely going to use it again!

Now for the interactive part... this is what's behind Tilda:

That tiny spiral that you see there is called a "wobble" and what it does is that it makes your image move or shake.

At the bottom of this post you will find a short video in which I show you how it works. I'm also pretty excited about this video, because for the first time you'll hear me speaking in English!! :-o So please don't laugh ok? LOL!

Also at the end of the video you'll find the supplies list for this card.

And here's the latest on Cupcake. She was looking out the window and it was a perfect setting to take a pic of her ;-)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Magnolia Advent Calendar Day 5: A Christmas Tag

Welcome to Day 5 of this lovely Magnolia Advent Calendar blog hop!

Today is a special day too because it's my youngest son--Sebastián's birthday.

He turns 11 years old and I couldn't be any prouder!! He's also my little fish...LOL!

Now back to the Advent Calendar, this is what I created:

Photography Tip: I wanted to add a Christmas feeling to my pics, so I lowered the ambient lights and focused on my Christmas tree's lights so that they could pop-up from the pic and to illuminate my tag ;-)

About my tag, it's the first time that I use cheese cloth in one of my projects and all that I'm going to say is that it wasn't that bad! haha No really, many of my fellow DT members use it in their projects and I've never used it before. Baby Jesus is from the newest Nativity Collection and I colored him with Copics. Tag dies are from Magnolia and the flowery rounded die is from Memory Box. Patterned paper is from Prima Marketing, Inc. and flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts. Finally, the sentiment is from Stampin' Up.

You know the rules... you have to leave a comment under this post in order to win a prize ;-)

Also, I'm sharing the day with my lovely DT member Hanna. So make sure to visit her blog for an amazing creation and for a second chance to win a prize :-)

Thanks for stopping by!!

Make anything, but a card--Halloween related...

I did a 2, 4, 6, 8 box in which you can store candy or any other favor ;-)

And don't forget that your project *must have* a Magnolia stamp in it in order to qualify for the drawing.

Now check out TOMIC's blog and see the *drool-all-over* projects that the rest of the DT did for this challenge ;-)

Happy Stamping!

Primera Comunión - Part II

So my mom is a Catechesis teacher...  and during the course of this week she asked me if I could make a couple of First Communion ("Primera Comunión") cards for five of her students.

Of course, I couldn't say no! ;-)  So here's what I did:

This Tilda is from the ~2010 Wedding Collection~.  I thought it was the most convenient for a First Communion girl ;-)

Since I was in a little bit of a hurry, I colored her with Copics.  I also used the oval and scallop oval templates from Spellbinders to fit her.  Patterned paper is from Bo Bunny and I machine stitched it to the card.  The pink pearls are from Tickled Pink Stamps, and the big pink paper flower is handmade using the Tim Holtz's Flower Die.

Here's how it looks on the inside:

For the inside, I used a Fiskars border punch and a cross punch, a white ribbon, and computer font "Gabriola" in MS Word.

Like I said, I had to make five of these cuties...  and the celebration is tomorrow, so let's see if they like them ;-)

Happy Stamping everyone!!

Card Box

Hey everyone,

It's been so long since I didn't play with one of my Magnolias...

and since I had this bday coming up,

I decided to dust them off and start playing again ;-)

As part of the bday present I gave away,

I did this lovely and practical card box:

and when you open it up

this is how it looks:

Serena, my fellow Magnolia DT Member this a tutorial on this card box...

and you can find it on Magnolia Ink Magazine #4.

And as always...

at the end of this post you will find the materials for this project.

Wedding Invitation

Hi everyone,

FINALLY I've got to make a card...  yeaaaahhhh!!!  LOL!  This one's from Magnolia's newest collection:  **Wedding**

*Everything* that you see in here is from Magnolia...  except for the inks ;-)

This time I used my Copics to color the image.  After using Distress Inks for so long, it is such a *breeze* to use Copics...  I completely forgot how quick you can color with them and how *neat* your final image looks like :-D

I also used my Coluzzle oval template, scalloped punch, antique white acrylic paint, Stickles, and machine stitching.

I'm currently working on another one, so don't forget to come back again!

Happy Stamping!  :-D

Pascua

I got real happy when I received this image from Magnolia.  OK, I got VERY happy when I received the entire kit from Magnolia...LOL!  She sure is adorable...  and holding up a lamb makes her even more adorable.  Here's a full view of my card:

I think that the pastels of the papers complement the image perfectly, don't you think?

Everything that you see here is from Magnolia (except for the silk ribbon).  Here's how it opens:

And here's how it looks when fully opened:

The flower and the dragonfly are also from Magnolia.  The word Blossom is a rub-on from Making Memories...  and everything was colored with Copics.

Thanks for stopping by!

It's Spring

 Hi everyone,

Before I begin, I would like to THANK YOU ALL for all your nice comments!!!
Sometimes it is difficult for me to answer them all, but know that I DO read them and that I truly appreciate all of them...  so THANK YOU~THANK YOU~THANK YOU!

Now for today's post...  It's Spring Time!
I created this card for my two DT's:  Stamp With Fun & Magnolia

This week's challenge at Stamp With Fun is Spring...
so what a better excuse to use one of my Magnolias to create something Spring related ;-)

The flowers are from Magnolia and are way too beautiful...  too bad that I only received just a couple of them :-(  Anyway, I like that they actually "pop-up" from the page and add a natural sparkle to the card's layout.  I also added Stickles to Tilda's flowers, so that they can stand out also.

Now drop by Stamp With Fun's blog AND Magnolia's blog to check on what the rest of the DTs prepared!

Happy Stamping!

Recipe:
  • Patterned Paper - Quite Contrary by My Mind's Eye
  • Stamps - Magnolia
  • Inks - Copics, Cat's Eye Chalk
  • Flowers - Magnolia
  • Rub-ons - Making Memories

Baby Album

I have this co-worker that his wife gave birth to a baby girl...
and as part of my present for them, I did a mini album (or brag book).

It measures 5" x 5" and has cardstock *sandwiched* between the pages to add sturdiness.
I was in a hurry, so I couldn't photograph its inside...  but the inner pages were left in blank, with some minor embellishments so she could freely add the pics taken.
The shimmery ribbon is from Magnolia, as well as the stamp and the small flowers.  The big green paper flower is from Heidi Swapp.  Letters are rub-ons from K & Co. and patterned paper is from My Mind's Eye.

Of course, I didn't hand it like this...  I prepared a small box to store it:

 (love that silky ribbon!)
The box measures 6" x 6" and 1 1/2" depth...  again, sorry for not taking more pics :-(
I basically used the same papers and pattern from the mini album...  except for the title, which is a stamp from Magnolia also.

And that's all for now!
I'll be back soon with another Magnolia related project ;-)

Have a great day!

A Gift From The Heart

This little tag/home decor is perfect for gift giving. To make this I used a Bazzil round chipboard, distressed it, and then embellished. Here's a full view of it: The red flowers are dies that I cut from my Big Shot machine (gotta love this tool... LOL)... and then I wrinkled them... and folded them... and folded them again... until I got a bulky, 3-D look ;-) And here's the supplies list:
  • Patterned Paper - Magnolia
  • Stamps - Magnolia
  • Inks - Copics, Cat's Eye Chalk, Antique Acrylic Paint
  • Flowers - Magnolia, Sizzix
  • Ribbons - Magnolia

Magnolia Down Under - Challenge #31

G'day everyone! Today I want to share with you all a last minute card I did for Magnolia Down Under Challenges. The challenge was to create a card using three criterias: a sketch, girly and orange. And here's my take: I used dimensionals to make Tilda *pop-up* from the card... it feels like if she were *floating*...LOL! I also added Stickles to the flowers to make them stand out as well. And here's the supply list:
Recipe:
  • Patterned Paper - Pretty Please by My Mind's Eye
  • Stamp - Magnolia
  • Inks - Copics, Chalk
  • Flowers - Prima, Magnolia
  • Butterflies - Heidi Swapp
  • Other - Stickles, silk ribbon, machine stitching
